Reclaimed freshwater pearl choker. The pearl is looped onto a silver or 24ct vermeil gold pin and threaded onto double sided British velvet.
The velvet is 4 mm wide and 1 metre long, so there is plenty of length to create a bow at the back.
My pearls are reclaimed and over 20 years old. I will never buy or use new pearls as I could not guarantee that they were made in an ethical way. These pearls are in mint condition and have had a previous life in another form of jewellery. They are now re-purposed into something new for you.
As with all of my jewellery, please ensure you remove your pearls before swimming or showering to maintain the lustre.
SIZE
Velvet: Double sided 4mm wide and 1 metre long.
Freshwater Pearl: Approx 0.6 x 0.6 cm (These are a natural gemstone and the sizes vary.)
MATERIALS
Pearl: Reclaimed Freshwater Pearl
Silver: Solid sterling silver.
Gold: Solid sterling silver - plated in responsibly sourced and ethical 24ct Gold.
My gold pieces are classed as Vermeil, this means that the base metal is Sterling Silver and there has been 2.5 microns of 24ct gold deposited on its surface. I plate my rings to 5 microns as they see more wear and tear.
Vermeil gold is the hardest wearing gold plate as it has such a high minimum deposit required. However it will still naturally fade over time, especially in high pressure areas such as where the jump ring sits on the chain. Please read how to prolong the life of your gold jewellery here. I offer a re-plating service which you can find out about here.
