Inspired by the faded grandeur of old buildings, the perfectly imperfect. A photograph I took in the Orangery at Croome Court of a very worn stone pillar was the inspiration and for me depicts the beauty in the deteriorated.
The textured surface gives the brilliant illusion of making them look thick and heavy, but in-fact they are purposefully light weight and easy to wear.
They are hallmarked at Birmingham's Assay office and come with an authenticity hallmark card, detailing the marks and their meaning.
SIZE
Earring: Width 1.2cm Height 1.9cm with stud and butterfly back.
MATERIALS
Silver: Solid sterling silver.
Gold: Solid sterling silver - plated in responsibly sourced and ethical 24ct Gold.
My gold pieces are classed as Vermeil, this means that the base metal is Sterling Silver and there has been 2.5 microns of 24ct gold deposited on its surface. I plate my rings to 5 microns as they see more wear and tear.
Vermeil gold is the hardest wearing gold plate as it has such a high minimum deposit required. However it will still naturally fade over time, especially in high pressure areas such as where the jump ring sits on the chain. Please read how to prolong the life of your gold jewellery here. I offer a re-plating service which you can find out about here.
